Post Construction Cleaning

Most work crews don’t want to clean their site after construction. At Limpio, we do post-construction clean-up so developers can transition from under-construction to ready-to-move-in.

We follow a three-stage cleaning process: initial clean, walkthrough clean, and final clean.

Initial Clean

Prior to installation of finish flooring and carpet

Wipe and dust all surface areas, walls, ledges, doors, trims, and baseboards.
Clean all windows including glass, frames, tracks, and remove all labels.
Clean all cabinets and counter tops inside and out, and remove all residual labels, tape, glue, and caulking.
Clean all plumbing fixtures and faucets, and remove all residual labels, tape, glue, and caulking, ready for caulking work.
Clean all ceramic tile, and remove all residual labels, tape, glue, and caulking.
Prior to trim painting, ensure the gap under the baseboard is thoroughly vacuumed. When this is not done, the paint sprayer pressure whips up the debris into the baseboard paint, creating a rough sandpaper finish.
Pull drawers out, vacuum and wipe cavity. Homeowners pull out the drawers and we do not want them to find sawdust from the cabinet installation.
Pull carpet protection at a low angle to the floor; otherwise it releases the carpet from a smooth edge and the carpet needs re-kicking, vacuum carpets.
Vacuum hardwood/ laminate/ file flooring, wash laminate / hardwood with "Vileda" type mop. String mops do not get into corners, leave debris (including strings), leave smears and may leave too much liquid on the wood surfaces.

Walkthrough Clean

Prior to final paint

Clean and wash all hard surface floors and vacuum all carpets, and remove all residual spots, labels, tapes, glue, and caulking; remove all floor protection from hard surface floors and carpets.
Clean all windows including glass, frames, tracks, and remove all labels.
Clean and dust all walls, ledges, grilles, and vents, including those surfaces requiring ladder access.
Clean and dust all doors, hardware, casings, sills, window seat, and baseboards.
Clean all cabinets and counter tops inside and out, and remove all residual tape, glue, and caulking.
Clean all tubs and shower stalls including walls, and remove all residual labels, tape, glue, and caulking.
Clean and sanitize all bathroom surfaces, plumbing fixtures and faucets, and remove all residual labels, tape, glue, and caulking.
Clean all ceramic tile, and remove all residual labels, tape, glue, and caulking.
Clean all mirrors and shower doors.
Clean all kitchen appliances inside and out, and remove labels, tapes, and packaging. Polish all stainless steel appliances.
Clean all electrical outlets, switches, baseboard heaters, and light fixtures, including inside and outside of lampshades.
Clean and wash all exterior windows and glass.
Clean and wash all exterior and interior railings and glass.
Clean and wash all exterior balcony decks, patios, front steps, and roof decks.
Clean all interior stairs and railings.
Clean and sweep all garage concrete floors.
Clean and wash all common area hard surface floors and vacuum all carpets, and remove all residual spots, labels, tapes, glue, and caulking; remove all floor protection from hard surface floors and carpets.
Clean all common area doors, casings, baseboards, and woodwork.
Clean all common area directional signs, electrical light fixtures, exit signs, and emergency lighting.
Clean and wash all commercial storefront doors, window frames, and glass.
Clean and wash all commercial canopy frames and glass.
Clean and wash all commercial fabric awnings and frames.
Pressure wash all commercial concrete sidewalks, stairs, and walkways.
Polish all handles now.
When sanitizing bathrooms, pay special attention to cabinets / walls facing the toilet. Turn on ceiling light fixtures. Ensure that all bugs and debris are removed from all ceiling light fixtures. If the lights are not turned on, this may be missed.
Clean both sides of exterior railing glass.
Clean decks, rooftop balconies and rooftop common areas. If no gutters are installed and dirt cannot be flushed over the edge or if homeowners are living below, clean vinyl deck with rotary carpet extractor. A rotary carpet extractor washes and picks up all at once. Mopping on the textured decks smears and grinds in the heavy exterior dust.
Light wipe, wash and thoroughly vacuum with beater bar. Wipe and dust all surface areas, walls, ledges, doors, trims, and baseboards.

Final Clean

Pre-occupancy

Complete all re–cleaning of suites after completion and prior to occupancy.
Re-clean and wash all hard surface floors and vacuum all carpets, and remove all residual spots, labels, tapes, glue, and caulking.
Re-clean all windows including glass, frames, and tracks, and remove all labels.
Re-clean all doors, hardware, casings, sills, and baseboards.
Re-clean all cabinets and counter tops inside and out.
Re-clean all tubs and shower stalls, and remove all residual tape, glue, and caulking.
Re-clean and sanitize all bathroom surfaces, plumbing fixtures and faucets, and remove all residual labels, tape, glue, and caulking.
Re-clean all ceramic tile, and remove all residual tape, glue, and caulking.
Re-clean all mirrors and shower doors.
Re-clean all kitchen appliances, and remove labels, tapes, and packaging.
